Every year, UCAN’s holiday gift drive means hundreds of generous donors fulfill our youth’s wish lists from each of our programs.
This past holiday season, on Dec. 13, Aramark decided to go the extra mile and not only fill 200 wish lists, but also hold a holiday party for the clients in our Violence Intervention and Prevention Services and their children.
Nearly 20 Aramark volunteers came to UCAN’s North Lawndale Campus, dressed in their best holiday attire, and turned our training room into a winter wonderland. The room was adorned with a Christmas tree, and piles of presents for our youth spilling out from underneath. Craft tables were scattered about, each piled with ornaments, snowflakes and fun winter goodies. Volunteers dotted every table, assisting youth with their crafts.
Another wall in the room was lined with Aramark’s specialty: a delicious Christmas dinner that attracted guests, UCAN staff and youth who were served by cheerful Aramark volunteers.
All in all, it was a warm and cheerful evening that featured Santa Claus himself who listened to kids’ gift wishes and took pictures.
We’d like to thank Aramark for their commitment to UCAN and our youth. Check out the pictures below!
