UCAN’s programs are guided by a Clinical Philosophy and united under a cohesive approach for treating our clients who are challenged by their histories of trauma. Our objective is to provide a consistent approach for serving our youth and families. We empower them by building upon their strengths, encouraging their sense of independence, and instilling hope for their futures.
Prevention & Empowerment Services
Violence Intervention and Prevention Services
Youth development model for ongoing coaching of young people in designated community areas vulnerable to involvement in violence
Workforce Development
Provides support to youth and young adults seeking employment through grants from state and federal workforce programs
Youth Development
Provides skills and support through group and individual programming for youth and young adults.
Foster Grandparenting
Foster Grandparents spend 15-40 hours per week helping children on a one-on-one basis, generally in a school setting, providing support to historically underserved children who are pre-school or school-aged.
Alumni Services & Association
The Alumni Services Program (ASP) provides youth and their children with an array of support and resources to assist in navigating their goals after transitioning out of the foster care system.

UCAN Academy
Therapeutic day school with 2 locations for youth in both Chicago Public Schools and suburban school disctricts
Behavioral Health Services
Clinical counseling core services deal with: Family Separation / Disruption; Family / Community Violence; Sexual Abuse
Residential
Therapeutic group home for youth in care providing structured, trauma-informed milieu services in a dorm setting.
Foster Care & Transitional Services
Foster Care
Traditional, Specialized, and Adolescent Foster Care, and Foster Home Licensing.
Nurturing Parenting Program
The Nurturing Parenting Program: Offering group parent education support and home coaching.
Teen Parenting Service Network
Provides education coaching, family development, therapy, and clinical consultation to youth in care who are pregnant and parenting.
Transitional Teen Services
Group living environments for teen youth in care, Teen Living Program sites with group living, and Independent Living Program for youth in apartment-like arrangements.
