From the CEO’s Desk
Hello and thank you for your interest in UCAN!
UCAN’s website is full of personal stories, program descriptions, and opportunities for you to get involved in our important work. UCAN has been serving the Chicagoland community since the Civil War, and we have learned a thing or two-and served hundreds of thousands of individuals-in the process. Please do take the time to explore our website.
But even if you have only a few minutes, please know this:
At the heart of it, UCAN’s mission, vision, and values boil down to the following:
-
We deeply value young people and their families
-
We are committed to ending cycles of abuse, neglect, violence, and discrimination
If you look at any of the most troubling current events — or even if you read between the lines for the stories that don’t make it on the nightly news — you’ll discover that the solutions always include the above tenets.
We are always looking for more allies, partners, and support as we strive to empower youth who have suffered trauma to become our future leaders.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us to learn how you can be a part of the UCAN community,

Thomas C. Vanden Berk
Chief Executive Officer
