A UCAN Story of Resilience and Transformation

Kemisha Swan
Meet Kemisha Swan. A resilient psychotherapist, author, and mother of two, Kemisha grew up in foster care from ages 7 to 21. With support from UCAN’s Professional Foster Parenting program, she received the transitional care, stability, and encouragement that helped shape her path forward.
At this year’s event, Kemisha will share her journey—highlighting the power of resilience and the life-changing support she received. Now a published author and mental health advocate, she uses her voice to inspire others and uplift youth in underserved communities. Her story is a powerful testament to what’s possible when young people are met with the right care at the right time.
